Patrick A. "Pat" Liddell joined Kiwanis almost 25 years ago when he became a member of the Kiwanis Club of Glendale. He graduated from San Fernando Valley State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting. Pat then continued his education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Cal State University-Northridge and, while working as an accountant and auditor, obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Fernando Valley, College of Law. He then began his legal career with his only law firm, Melby & Anderson LLP, in which he has been a member and partner for over 30 years. Midway through his undergraduate studies, Pat served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 as a HAWC Missile Internal Guidance and Launcher Electronic Repairman.
Pat has served within his community as a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Verdugo Hills Council, Boy Scouts of America, Glendale Bar Association, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Verdugo Hills Visiting Nurse Association, Verdugo Mental Health Center, Glendale Healthy Kids, Verdugo Housing Corporation and Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center. In addition, he has been honored for his community service by the Chamber of Commerce with the 1997 Man of the Year Award, 2009 Ben Bass Award and Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010; the Verdugo Hills Council, Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award in 2001, Citizen of the Year in 2002 and Wall of Excellence Award in 2010; the Glendale Board of Realtors 1995 Citizen of the Year Award and the Glendale Old-Timers Association 2004 Citizen of the Year Award.
During his Kiwanis service, Pat was named Kiwanian of the Year in 1992-1993, served as Distinguished President of the Glendale club in 1997-1998, Distinguished Lt. Governor of Division 3 in 2001-2002 and as District Parliamentarian from 2004 to present. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award and Tablet of Honor, a member of the Legacy, William A. Dunlap (Diamond Level), and George F. Hixson Fellowships and is a Kiwanis International Life Member. Pat has been an esteemed member of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation Board of Directors since 2005.
While serving as President of the Foundation, Pat will maintain a targeted focus on continuing to raise District-wide awareness about the Foundation and the wonderful services provided as a result of its caring and committed supporters. As a charter member of the Champions for Children program, he is passionate about the Foundation's major focus, Pediatric Trauma, including the Kiwanis Doctor program and Hope 4 Kids, as well as the Foundation's partnership with the Cal-Nev-Ha Service Leadership Programs. |
