My name is Lisa Chong. I am currently a fourth year biochemistry major at UCLA. This upcoming year will be my fourth year in Circle K as well. Throughout college I have been quite involved in community service through Circle K but also through other clubs such as Achievement Scholars. This is one of the ways I strive to give back after receiving so much.
As a biochemistry major, I am also a part of science organizations such as BiochemASE, a social, community, and academic club for biochemistry. As a part of this club, I have been exposed to various career fields and am currently pursuing pharmacy. Currently, I am applying to pharmacy school and I hope to matriculate in the fall after I graduate.
This scholarship has been fundamental to my last year of UCLA. Being out of state, attending and paying for UCLA has been quite a struggle for both my family and myself. This has allowed my family to relax a little and save up more for my younger sister to attend college. Not only has this helped my pursuit of higher education, it has had a direct impact on her education.
I am forever grateful to the club and foundation for impacting my college career in more ways than one.
