How to Help

subpage_image_3The Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund has long supported the clubs in our District to enhance their impact in communities by providing generous club, multi-club and division grants.

We’ve championed the next generation of Kiwanis leadership by providing our Service Leadership Program members with scholarships and leadership training.

And we continue to build better futures for our children by providing Pediatric Trauma Prevention grants to our Kiwanis and SLP clubs and through innovative programs like our Partner Hospital Program.

Other Ways to Help . . .

Required Minimum Distributions

Annual withdrawals are required to be taken from traditional retirement accounts by April 1 of the year following the calendar year in which you reach age 72 or face a penalty from the IRS of 50% on the amount that should have been taken. These required withdrawals are referred to as a Required Minimum Distribution or RMD.

Of course, RMDs are subject to income taxes and this additional taxable income may push you into a higher tax bracket. If you’re in the fortunate position of not needing your RMD to cover your living expenses, you have another option which will both lower your taxable income and support the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund.

To learn more, read our FAQs regarding Required Minimum Distributions.

Let Your Company Double or Triple Your Impact!

Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match your donation to the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund – and it won’t cost you a dime! Other employers will recognize your Kiwanis volunteer hours with a donation to the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund – all you have to do is ask!

From American Express to Zynga – and hundreds in between – most matching gift programs are dollar-for-dollar; however, some companies will give double or even triple the original donation!

Contact your employer directly and ask about a matching gift program or search online for “Matching Gift Programs.”
