The City of West Covina, CA has held an annual Easter Egg Hunt in their community for many years. Due to budget cuts, however, the City of West Covina was unable to host this yearly event in 2019, much to the disappointment of thousands of children who look forward to attending each year.
That’s when the Kiwanis Club of West Covina stepped in. With the help of a grant from the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation, the club hosted an Easter Egg Hunt on April 13th, 2019.
With a projection of more than 1,500 children to participate in the event that also featured games, activities, and a petting zoo, the Kiwanis Club of West Covina was excited to host the event.
“Our intention is to make this a yearly event and improve on it each year,” shared Brad Manning, project chair. It’s safe to say that the club is “hopping” in the right direction!
