Dear Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation,
Receiving the scholarship from the Kiwanis Cal-Nev Ha Foundation is crucial in allowing me to pursue my UCSB bachelor’s degree. The assistance allows me to maximize my college experience through internship and service opportunities. This award symbolizes affirmation for the time and efforts that I have contributed within my community. Although I didn’t take on these roles with the expectation that I would be rewarded, it is extremely gratifying to have that recognized on a larger scale.
In Circle K, I served within a multitude of positions with my UCSB home club as well as the Finance and Fundraising Committee. These experiences were crucial in developing my leadership, communication, teamwork, and event planning skills that I have able to apply within my professional experiences.
Specifically, when traveling abroad to Shanghai and Singapore this summer, I was immersed within an environment that was culturally foreign to me. Recalling upon my past insights from these leadership roles, I was able to connect and develop personal connections with my team colleagues.
Through planning Crazy Kompetition For Infants, I felt prepared to facilitate public relations events and design promotional materials which were used to promote company initiatives. My experiences through Key Club and Circle K have provided invaluable training that shaped my identity and skill set.
