Without a doubt, serving as a Key Club Lieutenant Governor my senior year was the most rewarding experience from my high school career.
Attending training conferences, planning division council meetings, interacting with Kiwanians, and negotiating and working with students and large-scale event coordinators made me grow in my leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
A majority of the learning and growth came from trial and error, making mistakes and re-planning to make the event or project run as smoothly as possible.
I am so grateful that Key Club provided an open and supportive space for me to experiment, sometimes fail, and come back stronger.
The skills I’ve gleaned from Key Club helped me immensely at my internship as a volunteer coordinator for a city-wide festival, and Key Club helped me discover my passion for management and the social sciences which is why I am pursuing a major in business.
The formal training and experiences from being a member of the Kiwanis family truly impacted my plans and goals for the future, and I know that Kiwanis will always be in my life.
