This scholarship has helped relieve my parents of the burden of paying so much for college tuition. As such, I did not have to hesitate as much when I made the choice to attend a UC, which does cost a great deal. In regards to my college plan, it also aided in allowing me to afford dorming for one year so that I can make new relationships and get to know the campus better, while indulging in a more fulfilling college experience. Receiving this scholarship meant opening up my options for this school year, since I didn’t have to be as tied down by financial factors.
