“As a low‐income student, the cost of college was always a thought in my mind. I was constantly reminded of the reality of being accepted into my dream college and not being able to afford it. Thanks to the Cal‐Nev‐Ha Children’s Fund, a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
The CNH Children’s Fund has made it possible for me to pursue an Economics degree at one of the most prestigious universities in the US: New York University. I will always be eternally thankful because receiving this scholarship has allowed me to go on and further my education.
As a Lieutenant Governor, you have to learn how to manage your time, communicate effectively, delegate tasks, and most importantly, serve your community. The biggest thing I learned is the value of hard work.
At the end of a long day, week, month, or even term working towards a service goal, the most satisfying part is never the praise. The most satisfying parts are seeing your friends having fun during the event, people bonding for the first time, and ultimately, what your hard work has accomplished.
Whether it be donating books, fundraising for a charity, etc., knowing that you’re helping those who need it is the best part. Lending a helping hand when someone is down can change the world, and I want to serve communities for the rest of my life.”
