The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, with cases continuing to rise throughout the United States. However, with the help of Kiwanians, like the Kiwanis Club of Milpitas, our communities are getting the support they need.
The Milpitas Food Pantry provides meals and other services to low-income families in the community, but as the pandemic grew more severe, so did their need for funding. That’s why the Kiwanis Club of Milpitas used a COVID-19 Community Assistance Grant from the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund to provide financial support to the Milpitas Food Pantry, an organization they and their SLP members have assisted in the past.
“The food pantry provides meals for low-income families, many of which include children,” shared Club President Ron Lind. “[This project] will help feed those who are struggling, particularly during the pandemic.” The club hopes to coordinate with SLP members to provide safe food distribution to families who visit the pantry. They also hope to “adopt” the pantry to continuously provide financial and logistical support for years to come!
The Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund has already provided more than $7,600 in COVID-19 Community Assistance Grants, and we stand at the ready with more funds to help your clubs support your communities affected by the pandemic. Together, we will rebuild and get through this. Apply for your COVID-19 Community Assistance Grant today.
