Dear Board of Directors and Friends of the Kiwanis CNH Foundation,
My name is Ethan Hong, and I am honored to be a recipient of the 2024 Glenn and Millie Muggelberg Memorial Scholarship. I am sharing my sincere gratitude for your support of my journey in Circle K International and the University of California, Irvine. I was in shock and overjoyed at the 2024 CNH Circle K District Convention in Riverside, CA, when I was announced as the scholarship recipient and celebrated alongside my peers and Kiwanis advisors. That year, I served my club as President and held leadership roles in four different Circle K District Committees. I grew from my leadership both personally and professionally, and I sought more opportunities to lead the club.
This past term, I proudly served as Secretary of my home club and the CNH District of Circle K as District Membership Development & Education Chair. In my final year at UC Irvine, I developed a greater passion for ensuring that my successors were prepared and had the resources to succeed after I retired. I achieved this through countless trainings, presentations, minute-taking, and record-keeping for all of my projects and events. I am now succeeded by two leaders whom I had the opportunity to watch join the club, grow from their experiences, and demonstrate their passion for service through leadership.
I was happy to be celebrated as a graduating member at this year’s CNH Circle K District Convention in Ontario, CA, and receive recognition for my leadership and commitment to service. Throughout my journey, I have met some members of the Board of Directors and other Kiwanis Family leaders who have truly inspired me with their passion and leadership. After 8 years as a member of the Kiwanis Family, I do not know where my career will take me next, but I know I will find a home in Kiwanis International. To each member of the Board, thank you!
