Recognition Opportunities

How does your club recognize a person’s value in who they are, what they bring to the table, and what they accomplish?

The Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund makes it easy for your Kiwanis club to recognize exceptional Kiwanians and community members with these three awards:

Bert Shoemaker Award
The Bert Shoemaker award is presented at our annual District Convention to a Kiwanian who best exemplifies the spirit of Kiwanis. Club members who have earned the love and respect of their fellow members by virtue of exceptional contributions to their club and their community are an idea candidate for the Bert Shoemaker award. To submit a name for consideration of the Bert Shoemaker award, please complete the online submission form.

Harold M. Heimbaugh Nathan Hale Award
The Nathan Hale award is presented at our annual District Convention to an individual who has performed an act of courage and/or personal involvement beyond the ordinary call of a citizen’s responsibility. The recipient must be a resident of California, Nevada or Hawaii. To submit a name for consideration of the Nathan Hale award, please complete the online submission form.

Special Olympics Athlete of the Year Award
The Special Olympics Athlete of the Year award is presented at our annual District Convention to a Special Olympics athlete who best exemplifies the Special Olympics motto: “Please help me win, but if I cannot, let me be brave in the attempt.” To submit a name for consideration of the Special Olympics Athlete of the Year award, please complete the online submission form.
