Training & Leadership Development

Each year we empower hundreds of youth to become future leaders by supporting their leadership development and training.

Our donors enable the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund to provide members of our Service Leadership Programs with tens of thousands of dollars in training support annually, providing them with the tools and techniques to become effective leaders.

And the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund provides scholarship support to Key Club members wishing to attend a Key Leader event, a weekend experiential leadership program for today’s young leaders.

Meet some members of our Service Leadership Programs who have benefited from the training opportunities provided by the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund and, in turn, are getting involved in their community and building a better future for our children.

Meet Armando

Armando Velazquez will tell you that, for him, Kiwanis is all about the service. Armando, or Mondo as he is more affectionately known, has been engaged in Kiwanis service for more than 15 years, and he loves community service today as much as he did 15 years ago.

Bitten by the service bug in junior high, Mondo has become a shining star within Kiwanis, serving as a Key Club Lt. Governor, Circle K District Governor and Circle K International Trustee, to name just a few.

A passionate and dedicated advocate for children, Mondo has an equally large commitment to the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund which he credits for helping him adopt so many of the skills and qualities that have propelled him to where he is today.
